We are so lucky to live in one of the most beautiful places on Earth. The days are bright blue, the ocean sparkles, and everything seems infused with light and magic. We take advantage of every second of gorgeous weather. We are outside, boating on the lake, basking in the sun, eating lobster with butter, kayaking, hiking, watching the clouds drift by, and definitely drinking some beers. There is no better way to beat the heat of high summer than hanging out with friends, sipping frosty beer from your favorite Rockland brew pub.
Now, how are you going to chill all that awesome Rock Harbor beer at home when your squad stops by unannounced for a party? We’ve got a few hacks for cooling warm beer fast. Fill a large tub with ice water and salt. Salt significantly lowers the freezing point of water, so this method will cool an assortment of cans in about 15 minutes. If you have an empty freezer, you can chill cans in about 10 minutes. Wrap damp paper towels around each one and let them sit for just a few minutes. Water is a great conductor to get the beer party started.
This last tip is the party trick that will impress everyone. You have to have a can of compressed air lying around. Hold it upside down and spray the side of the can for a few seconds, until frost forms. You will render your warm beer super cold and refreshing in about 30 seconds. How’s that for chill time?
There’s no better place to be in the summer than Midcoast Maine, and no beverage more refreshing than a Rock Harbor beer. Stop in for a flight, a pint, a growler, or a rack of cans to take home, so you can keep cool when the temperature rises over these next few amazing months. This is why we love living here.
